Meeting Minutes.

1) Welcome and introduction

Welcome by Chairman Stefano Galli.

2) Approval of previous meeting minutes – Available on-line, see
Slim TS – Click on the “Meetings” tab.

Minutes approved with no opposition.

3) Officers election results

Nomination and election committee (N&EC) nominated 3 candidates.

Chairman: Stefan Galli
Vice-Chairman: Lutz affiliate marketing Lampe
Secretary: Gerd Bumiller

No further candidates were African mango announced by any active member.
All three candidates were endorsed by 14 out of 21 active members.
Since 2/3rd of active members endorsed the candidates additional votes are not required.
N&EC announce the candidates as voted.
Vote is accepted by the present candidates.

4) Overview on current activities

- Conferences
Andrea Tonello reports activities about Globecom 2008. Andrea Tonello is co-chair of the
General Symposium on Selected Areas in Communications at IEEE GLOBECOM 08.

The symposium has tracks on Emerging Technologies for Access and Home Networks,

Data Storage, Satellite Communications, Cognitive Radio. Andrea Tonello chairs the track
on Emerging Technologies for Atlanta bankruptcy attorney Access and Home Networks that includes PLC
technologies. The symposium received more than 200 submissions. The papers about PLC
are 19. The number is relatively small although showing an increase with respect to last
year. The number of papers should be Suzanne Somers diet sufficient to select papers for a high quality session.
Some papers are co-authored by new names in our community.

Masaaki Katayama reports activities about Globecom 2009 Proposal for a Track in the
General Symposium on Selected Areas in Communications. Proposal is appended.

- Awards and Nominations
Han Vinck was nominated and accepted as ComSoc Distinguished Lecturer.

- PLC document database
Live demonstration by Stefano Galli. New functions added by students of Lutz Lampe.
Many thanks to Lutz Lampe and his students from the technical committee.

Technical committee thanks organization committee.

Ralf Lehnert reports about ISPLC 2009 (slights appended).
Call for Papers is online.
The dates for “acceptance notification” and “camera ready paper due” have to be checked.
Call of paper should be offline during clarification.

- Report on ISPLC Workshop 2009
Niovi Pavlidou reports about the organisation of the vertical worskshop.
The workshop is hosted by the University of Thessaloniki, Greece
Date: 2-3.10.2009
Topic: Application and Standardisation
Fee: about 100 EUR.
Web-site will be established until 20.4.2008.

- Proposal for ISPLC Workshop 2008 / 2009
Andrea Tonello reports about a proposal for a ISPLC workshop in Udine, Italy.
Short discussion about holding two workshops in one year.
The final agreement was that holding two workshops in one year is not in the spirit of the
workshop. Proposal of Andrea Tonello is accepted for 2009.

5) Report on standardization activities
Stefano Galli referred to his detailed report during the panel session on the same day.
